Default Align please make some lighter paddles for the 250

I got some neg expo in this little guy to help out but the roll rate even all cyclics maxed out is a tad slow. I am hoping Align will make some lighter paddles or play with the flybar ratio to speed it up abit. Hope I am not alone in my wish?

I'm on thin ice here, but wouldn't cutting them down a bit help? Or will it be worse since the missing steering response?
A longer flybar should help aswell.

Hey,

You could lighten them out yourself by drilling some holes in the rear of the paddles, behind the threaded hole in which the flybar screws into. Then cover them in some thin heat shrink so they work in the air.
Of course try to make sure you leave enough material at the trailing edge to maintain the paddles integrity, also by doing so this way you will keep the centre of gravity forward, otherwise they will become very unstable in flight.

This was a trick used many years ago by fliers of the original Concept30 helicopter's who wanted faster cyclics.

Personally, with a set of 205D Carbon Blades on (some add a 16T pinion as well but I have not as yet) I would have said you would not need for a faster cyclic response :-)

I've noticed that too. I tried increasing the cyclic swash mix but it's still slow even to the point of binding. how about gaui paddles?

I don't know about lighter paddles, but after putting on the carbon fiber blades (they are so shiny) the stock paddles don't look so hot.

Im sure microheli or Align will step up and make some carbon paddles in the very near future. For some reason microheli made a carbon fiber anti-rotation bracket. Who the heck would buy that? its 15 bucks too!

Do you guys really think it needs them? I have my cyclic turned up to 80% and the thing flips and rolls like crazy?

The Gaui 200 paddles won't fit. The Align flybar is too thick to fit into the paddles.

I don't know what I'm doing differently from you all, but my cyclic agility is excellent with the stock setup. I do know that my cyclic was horribly slow until I put on CF blades and the 16t pinion..

Get the black magic marker out and cover them with color. They look less ugly and disappear when rotating.

Yes sir, well.... I do anyways. I got the 16 tooth pinion as well, and the cf 205D blades, and all cyclics maxed right out to bind in extremes on bench. We shall see, maybe they will make some,,,,, just maybe....

Going with leading edge control also helps. specially with quicker stick to cyclic response time.

but those stickers will slow them down even more.

I am not overjoyed with the cyclic response stock (15t+plastic blades) but 16t and 205d blades looks like the cyclic is great.

I am putting the 205 carbons (LHS was out of the D's) on and a spartan gyro. it should fly pretty well like that.

Hey Kevin, it may just be the angle of the picture but it looks like there is some extreme stress on your canopy mounting bolts.
