Default 700 Metal Tail Torque Tube Unit rebuild

Hi,
I tried replacing the bearings on the rear Torque tube with ceramics. Have a question for others that have replaced the bearings, unlike the Nitro version that I had once, there is a spacer that you use between the bearings on the Nitro, or earlier version it was metal. This new one is made of plastic. When you put it back in,is the plastic spacer suppose to be glued in so it doesn't spin? or just inserted in as is.

Which part are you talking about?

If you're talking about these, they've always been rubber...

Its just pushed into place, in fact the manual suggests lightly oiling the rubber so it slides more easily into place, the kit also comes with a clear plastic tube that is to be used as a "ram rod" to position the bearing and rubber holder into place in the tail tube.

My bad, it's the rear tail assembly torque gear. There's 2 bearings and a rubber spacer that goes between the bearings. On the Nitro version that spacer was metal. It's now plastic. Not sure if it's glued in place so it doesnt rotate, but looking at the manual, doesn't show and glueing needed. Looks like it will cause drag if it spins freely as it will rub against the housing.

Don't glue it in, If you do you will not ever be able to remove that forward bearing. That's all it does is to correctly space the two umbrella gear bearings in the tail hub.

Thats what I thought. The Nitro version was a metal spacer and it was easier to remove.
I had to use a heat gun to get these bearings out and it looked like there was some retaining compound
on the plastic spacer.
