Default Converting Ballistic 635 to 550

I currently have a Ballistic 700 (which is fantastic) but would like a 550-size heli that I can fly on a 6s pack. I've had a Synergy E5 but am not crazy about the parts count nor the parts cost. Possibly looking forward to the MSH Protos 380 but afraid it might be on the small side.

So, was thinking about buying a Ballistic 635 and setting it up for 6s and 550 size blades. The boom will probably be a little long but can be cut down. Just wondering if anyone out there has tried it.

Interesting project....I have never tried it.

Just not sure if it would be light enough. (I have the weight recorded, I will post it.)

Why not run it as a 635 they fly awesome but it would be 10S or 12S.

My Rave 635 weighs 8.02 lbs. dry. 10.48 lbs. with 2- Revo 4400 mah 6s 60c packs.

My Synergy E5 on 6S as a 550 Heli weighs 6.48 lbs. dry. 7.89 lbs with on 6S battery.

Not sure the Rave would work well as a 550. You would have to find a lot of weight savings. My 635 has the metal gears, extra tray for the FBL system, so it is not the lightest but I don't think you could loose 1.5 lbs.

Saying that the Rave Ballistic 635 is a awesome Helicopter !!! On of my favorite for sure. The 600 size is under rated they fly great and you don't have to go crazy on the power system. I have Konronik Power Jive 120 HV ESC on it and my 700. Also the price on the 635 is awesome.

If you have your heart set on a 550. A really light 550 that is a beautiful Heli is the Logo 500SE / 550SX. My Logo 550SE weighs 5.64 lbs. dry. With one 6S battery 7.05 lbs.

Thanks for the weight measurements. Yeah that's quite a bit of difference between the E5 and the 635. Well, scrap that plan...

Thanks,
Angelo

The Rave line should have come out with a 550.
