Noooooo,

No nitro.
I can't fly nitro, not allowed in our club

MSH needs to focus its resources.
But if the protos 550 (electric) is out you can release it, for the ones who want nitro

And yes OTS seems to waking the nitro road for the moment. I sure hope a lightweight 700 nitro isn't the 'only' weight saving thing they are talking about.

Nitro will never die. It's at the root of folks who got in to the hobby before lipos and BL motors. Even now I'll always have a nitro to accompany the electric helis.

OTS stated he's picked up a couple new nitro motors...maybe for the new Protos nitro?

Nitro is very much alive. The NX7 had some issues that made it unreliable.

I've got a NX7 and I know there have been some issues with gears which have new revisions. What other issues made the heli unreliable? Not trying to start anything, just truly interested in what I might have to keep an eye on? I really haven't had any issues...yet...but I probably don't fly as hard or as much as you guys do. Either way, I'd like to know.

Me either. It's a cool machine. Biggest issue I had was the lower clutch bell bearing destroying itself every 10 flights. I machined a new clutch hub and balanced it. Motor was really smooth but it would just wear out too quick. It would get a bad vibration from the clutch and lose power. Was really a bummer for an $800 airframe. I never complained. Just sold it. The BN700 is sold....for now

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on mine. I do remember some people had some out of balance fan/clutch assembly...I could see this causing issues with the hub bearing like you stated. I balanced mine before assembly and haven't had a issue yet. But something I'll keep an eye one now. Maybe I'll be selling my airframe soon too?
