Default Hitec HSG-5084 STILL hot.

Anyone ever drill a tail servo case to allow for cooling? I'm running Hitec HSG-5084 on the tail of my 450 and i've gone over the settings SEVERAL times while running it with my Quark tail gyro.

I am constantly getting 125-130 degree temps from the plastic servo case after a 4 min flight. This is during 90degree summer days here in florida. My gain is not too high (if anything it's too low, my linkage is set and there is no binding left or right.

Just curious if anyone else has vented a tail servo. Thanks

Never had to vent a tail servo. Make sure your servo type selection through
the quark is set to 1520/250 (3 violet flashes) for the HiTec 5084. The actual pulse/freq
for the 5084 is 1520/200 but the above is as close as you can get per Quark setup.
The default servo type setting is 1520/333 through the quark & if you are at default settings that may be a cause of excessive heat to the servo.

Steve

Suggest 1520/250? It's 1520/333 now. I've heard you can go DOWN but not UP is that correct?

thanks
