PL6 charge failures
I have had my PL6 for about 2-3 months now, and was in love with the way it charged my packs.
Unfortunately it has developed problems for no apparent reason and keeps failing with over voltage warnings from 3 different packs. I have a 2S and two 3S packs. All of them are having this problem. I charge individually so I know there isn't a parallel issue. I have also used both a car battery and an external power supply and both used to work just fine. Sometimes if I leave the charger alone for a while and come back later it will work again until it warms up, then it starts giving me crap again. What could this be? |

I'd try cleaning all the balance related pins and connectors on the charger, cables, adapters, and the batteries. Be somewhat careful about keeping the cleaner away from (if any) adapter fuse color strip indicators.
You can use the wiping action of the pins by mating and disconnecting the various connectors to help clean the contacts, if you do this while the pins and connectors are still wet with the cleaner. Spread female connector pins on the battery balance connector can also cause a problem similar to yours. |
