Default Custom 500 heli project

Here's a pic of a heli I've been working on. Its based on a trex 500, but some elements are inspired by the gaui X5, and the belt drive and servo layout is a little bit goblin-ish. I'm going to get a friend to 3d print the first prototype parts. Side frames etc. will be lasercut aluminium. Once the design is proved I'll machine parts properly and get the frames water jet cut from carbon.

I did the render with solid works tonight

Nice! Are you building everything up from scratch, or sourcing existing parts where possible?

I'm gonna use a lot of align parts. Shafts, 500esp tail slider, autorotate gear, dfc head. Motor/servo plate and boom holders I'll make on my cnc mill.
