Itīs one of the tailblades that are in the wrong direction. But they look good together with that canopy, were did you buy them? Do they improve visability??

Those are KBDD blades...very good blades and way more visible than carbon!

Can you post pictures of this and what is the benefit of doing this? I have heard it has something to do with getting the set up in Rate mode to work correctly??
Thanks!!

Default Modified Beam E4

If wanting to run 6S in the Beam, I've discovered a couple of things.

What she looks like with an Align canopy or clear Beam canopy used as experiments for fitting the Outrage NRG 6S 1300mA batts inside.

The orange Outrage 6S 1300mA's fit without modification...less removing padding normally installed on the inside of canopy, gives 4-5 mm extra clearance without it. I am not certain, but have heard these orange 1300mA's are not being manufactured anymore.

Using the Dual Lock fasteners by 3M, instead of velcro helps, thanks HFG. Gets rid of the need for a strap as well.

I am using EC3 connectors for personal comparison too the Deans I used on the 3S system. They are larger, so I did not gain in space but they don't hinder the fittment.

One pic shows, the bottom portion of clear canopy cut-back 1/4" shy of edge of the bottom tray. This was my only attempt, and it is not difficult to cut. It is a snug fit with the Blue NRG batts.

billbill242000, if you have not already found it...check the Trex 450 Pro build videos...Finless covers the tail mod in several vids. I made the mod to my bird. Seems like less need to counter-correct...other than that, I'm too new to flying to give useful input.

Hope this helps anyone looking.

And YES, I am aware of the fact that the tail blades are mounted incorrect. I have removed the tail and twisted the belt the correct way and reversed the blades and corrected my settings in the VBar

EDIT: Forgot the setup specs

Mikado Mini-VBar

Ok I'll bite, and maybe a bit dumb, but why reverse the tail rotation?

Recently scored a Beam E4 early Version..

I must say - this heli rocks! This is my first non-Align 450 and I love it...

Specs;

* Std Fibre blades
* Turnigy typhoon 2215 motor - 12 tooth pinion
* Turnigy Plush 40A esc
* Hitec HS65's on cyclic
* Futaba S9257 on tail
* Spartan 760 gyro
* AR6100 receiver
* Hyperion VX 2200mah batts...

I'm only a sport flyer and learing some 3D basics... So I do loops, rolls, flips, inverted, etc.. and this thing has great cyclic response - I'm using 40% expo and have put flybar weights on since the pics.. This was a tip I was given and placed them approx 1/3 down from the flybar cage and it really settled the heli down with not very much cyclic degradation at all...

I'm very impressed with the Beam E4 - that's all I can say!

Some really nice looking machines in this picture forum. I am a Beam owner also. I am fairly new to this hobby, and my wife says that I am now OCD with it. Although I have had some really frustrating moments in trying to keep my Beam in one piece for one reason or another I do have to say I really enjoy it. I will say that the Beam is one of the most indestructable Helis around. How many can say theirs have been run over by a van and all that happened was bent shaft and destroyed main blades.

Here's mine, I kept the wiring real clean so as not to take away from the beauty of the frame. I'm tempted to paint the ESC black.
