Good questions

my best answer is: Tarot 3800kv motor:

http://tarot-rc-heli.com/ESC-AND-BRU...th-3.5MM-shaft

25.44 and theres a black friday sale every weekend this month (25% OFF)

I bought the 6s verison of this motor about 2 years ago and it has been my favorite motor out of every motor i'ved tried and i've tried them all

Quality is great and durability seems to be solid as well
Dont blow alot of money on a name brand that does no better than this one. I speak from experience.
i've flown quantum, scorpion, KDE, you name it i've probably tried it (even the no name HK motors) and the tarot won

What's the 6S version? Same P/N, different specs? When my 3S packs die I'm ready to switch. I just hate gambling on motors. I bought the wrong Typhoon motor a couple months ago. It was cheap and it worked decently for $15, but I'm a little too rough on my motors and the KDE 3500 I got still isn't quite strong enough for my liking either.

After 2 align motors that have killed 5 ESC/BEC's I have just brought a Scorp 2520-6500KV motor & matched with a CC Edge 50, plus a couple of Gens Ace 50C 2200 batteries, in my old 450 Pro V2, wow, what a difference, quite, smooth, ambient temp + 20deg C & heaps more power, like a whole new heli

I think Xnova are going to make a 3S version of their new powerhouse too?

I'm a fan of the Scorpion 2221-8, other folks who want more power go for the -6. either of those should handle a 3S setup nicely, assuming it's geared right for your targeted head speeds.

Umm....I'm guessing this was a typo? 6000+rpm headspeed on a 450 would unfathomable!

Hk turnigy sk3 3600kv has been running strong for me for about 2 yrs. no noticeable bearing wear and still alot of power on 14tooth. Almost too much at about 3400 rpms.
