Default Tracx Rotor head

I have this on a 500 trex. Does it use the same feathering shaft as the atom 500?

http://www.nankinhobby.com/product-p/08-8506x.htm

Where is the best place to buy feathering shafts for this model?

Yes, it's the same feathering shaft as the Atom 500.

Any Compass dealer will stock them.

Jeff

Does the Tracx head use the same dampers, o-rings, shims, feathering shaft etc as the original Atom 500 FB head ?

I have an older FB Atom 500, and spares etc for it, but I was looking at getting a Tracx head for my scale Trex 500 and wondered if the dampers would be too hard for low headspeed (around 1800rpm) flying.

I am currently using an RJX FBL head with Align grey dampers.

No. For one thing, the damper outside diameter on the TracX head is considerably smaller than on the T-Rex. The damper "well" in the head block is also deeper on the TracX.

I wouldn't mind social media so much if it didn't involve people.

As Alan mentioned, no, they are not the same.

However, the Atom 500 FBL head and the TracX 500 head are the same.

Alan

Thanks. I assume you were comparing the TracX and original Atom 500 FB dampers etc, and not the Trex 500 as stated ?

Jeff

Thanks for the clarification. Do you know if the TracX head & dampers are any good for slow headspeed scale operation, or are they meant for 3D speeds ?

Hard dampers + low headspeeds = wobbles / bobbing etc usually.

Is anything from the Atom FB head compatible with the FBL head ?

Cheers
Colin

Nope. I was comparing the TracX and T-Rex. As Jeff said, the TracX and Atom 500 heads are the same.

Before KBDD came out with dampers that would fit the Atom 500 head, people were taking the KBDD T-Rex 500 dampers, grinding down the outside diameter, and putting a damper and a half on each side. I still have the two packages of those dampers I was planning to modify but never did. If I find someone with a T-Rex 500, I'll give those to them if they're interested.

I believe the feathering shaft, dampers and blade grips (including bearings) are compatible between both. The blade grip arms are different length and can't be swapped over. The head block is a completely different design as well.
