I notice there are no rubber skid protector/grips with the kit but noticed there are some in a few photos on the forum. Is there another heli that have compatable ones for the TDR skids?
Would prefer some for hard surfaces.

Hmm, that one is hard, i have some for Trex 700 which are very tight fit and some others (Raptor maybe) which is better.
Try the biggest ones you can get locally.

I use these, they are from QuickUK and they fit perfectly.

I too use the Quickuk skid rubbers :

http://www.quickuk.eu/products/428/w...ack_h2000.html

Be sure to get the small ones (7-9mm), The large ones will be too loose.

TT Raptor 30/50 will also fit well.

Thanks, I will order these with my next order from Fast Lad, see they stock them too. conflicting advice above, I have some Carbon skids that are 10mm dia, so smaller pressume they are a tight fit, larger, chance of slipping around now and again, may just order both then.

I use the large ones and they are a tight fit. No chance of slipping at all.

I have used the large ones on the gasser (12mm skids), but one fell off a little while ago and got lost in the snow...
They are too loose for 10mm, IMHO.

Just personal preference I guess, but I'll prefer a tight fit...

Better order both to decide yourself.

I use T-Rex 550 skids, which are the same as T-Rex 600 and T-Rex 700.

Perfect fit.

Thanks all, I have a 550, they looked a bit small but see the QuickUK small ones can be squeezed on there, QED then, small with KY Jelly it is then!

Default Servo power Bus with Bluetooth

Further to page 2 of this thread:
Finished the Power bus, looking good and managed to include a cheepo Bluetooth in there as a bonus. Will only patch it in when required for setup or vib problems/analysis etc.

All servos/power/esc will plug into this and only the 3 cables need to go over to the VBAR so cutting down on cable density and transfer of vibrations.

Plan to cut out a Carbon plate to mount this above the Tail servo most probably, may even cut holes for rubber grommets so the cable can come through the other side. Just some thoughts but will have to wait for the kit to see what the final install will be like. Servos for illustration only, have the usual candidates.

Watch it with the cheapo BT! There have been problems reported. Frozen units and crashes. Search the forums for info, I don't recall exactly which non Mikado BT did that.

Thanks for the warning, I have considered that possibilty and will only connect it live for setting up and vib analysis on the deck or low hover if neccessary which hopefully I should not after minimising the wire to the Vbar. Otherwise it will be really handy to have it available so I can tweek with an android phone if I have to.

Default Duff Lipo

Slowly collecting all the bits and pieces, ordered 2 batches of 4x 4500 Nano Tech 6S Lipos for 4 complete 12S sets. 2nd batch of 45/90C arrived this morning.
The first thing I always do before cutting off packaging, changing connectors etc is check the voltage. Must say had about 14 from them, all arrive at about 50% charge, 23v in this case.
Well three were fine, but one was at 18v! at least 1 cell knackered (0v), another low at 2.6v, emailed HK, lets see what their customer service is like!

Photos of good and bad

Unfortunately it will probably cost you more or thereabouts to ship the battery back for a replacement than it would were you to purchase a new one

Yes, sort of hoping that they will accept the photographic evidence, we shall see!
They should by rights pick up the postage cost for faulty stuff but they out of the reach of normal legislation.

Anyway, positive, 3.5 flight packs ready and waiting, I have tested all in the charger, all have about 2-2.5 milli ohms internal resistance, nice and consistant with the higher spec 45/90C slighty lower. Not sure if the cost of higher spec is justified, expect the 35/70C will be OK for my style of old git flying

Have soldered all connectors and put yellow HS on the higher spec connectors.

Only outstanding now is the Vbar (on order), oh yea and the kit, only want one
Emailed Jan for something else and did drop in that it is my birthday towards end of April hint hint.

I also have some server supplies off ebay coming, going with the field charger idea, have fewer packs, cycle them until they drop, buy some more, no shelf life issues then, esp with the heat in Cyprus, expect that is a large factor in Lipo life.

That is why i quit using HK lipos, almost every time one pack of the delivery was DOA or died soon.
+1 on the server power supplies, cheap and reliable with lot of power!

BIG +1...they use to be good value, but lately they have become a big waste of money with no reasonable recourse on defective lipos due to the cost and hassle of returning them.

Just a trick I used but 1 battery out of about 30 from HK came with a puff. Voltage read fine but I was concerned. I took a pic, posted in their support forum and had a new one in the mail 24 hours later. With the picture I provided as evidence (just like you did) but placed in that highly visible forum of theirs got me a replacement without issue. Because of my picture they didn't need me to return it.

Might be worth a try. When you look stand-up, they treat you that way.
