HH BL
I have just recently acquired a ncps with the hh brushless upgrade. It is installed with the factory plug and play harness but I plan to directly solder the wires once I know for sure I'm not sending this heli back. I have two problems so far and I haven't been able to find much about them.
First problem is the LVC, when using a fully charged 25c 150mah eflite battery I can get about 20-30 second flight times before the heli just drops out of the sky and the tail motor goes full throttle. When it hits the ground I notice that the brushless ESC rearms because I can hear the beeps. The most worrisome part about all of this is the tail motor goes wide open and hitting TH does nothing, the only way to stop it is to unplug the battery. My second problem is that I have no throttle control, with a linear throttle curve the throttle stick is dead until about 20% and then the motor is at full speed the rest of the throttle range. I've held it in my hand and throughout the entire stick range the motor speed is the same with only slight changes in rpm with pitch change. With a 45c 150mah eflite battery I get to fly for about a minute before the heli hits LVC. From what I've read the voltage drop is severe enough with the factory plug and play harness that it's causing the heli to hit LVC too early. I can manage a timer on dx6 so that I know when to bring it in before I hit LVC but the only way I can imagine that I will get any decent run time is to slow the headspeed down. From what I've seen from people who direct solder the signal wire they attach onto a resistor rather than plug into the motor connector, will this allow me to have control over my headspeed? |

It is highly likely you have some resistance in one of your black and white stock wires. Those are horribly cheap, changing them out would probably solve a lot of your problems. If your tail spins after you hit LVC then that is pretty much normal. Fix your wires and move up to at least 180 mah batteries and most should go away. I have a 10A escape and and 13,500 brushless motor on one ncpx and the HH esc with similar motor on another and I don't hit LVC that fast.

I ended up returning it, the hh brushless conversion doesn't work with the nano cps like it does for the cpx. I bought a nano cpx with the hh brushless upgrade and after I direct soldered and added 22awg wire with deans connectors it flies great.
