Cutting canopy and blanks for trex 550x

I'm having trouble finding blank canopies for a trex 550x to paint myself.

I also have a 700 canopy I bought used, and it is too long in the back. If I took a dermal to it, any suggestions to keep the paint/clearcoat from cracking beyond the cut, and what I should do to treat the cut area after?

That’s hard to predict. Obviously depends on quality of materials and preparation of the substrate. Sometimes laying a layer of masking tape over the area to be cut helps to keep the paint from lifting. After you make the cut, carefully remove the tape, in a direction as to not lift the paint. Then carefully apply thin CA glue, or clear coat of your choice, to the edge. Lightly sand the rough edges, apply clear again. I would plan on using rubber canopy trim on the cut edges to hide any chips.
