Fabulous Las Vegas Heli Fun Fly March 20-21 2015

Las Vegas Radio Controlled Club is proud to sponsor the Fabulous Las Vegas Fun Fly taking place on March 20th and 21st. We are planning for food, fun, and flying. It will be on a much smaller scale this year. If you have any questions feel free to contact me on a pm.

I have been waiting for a date and you end up picking the same dates as the Phoenix Fun Fly!!! I'll be staying home and supporting the locals. To bad as I have enjoyed the LV Fun Fly the last two years.

Unfortunately we did fall under the same dates as Phoenix, we had to make a difficult decision without interfering with the stadiums event next door. Hopefully you'll be able to make it out next year.

Yes Sir, It will be on Friday and Saturday. I just got confirmation that Ben Storick and Alan Szabo jr. will be flying both days. We will have demos on Saturday the 21st. for the pro's to take the stage.

Dates are March 20th and 21st with open flying on the 22nd.

So who's headed for Vegas?

It looks like I'm leaving tomorrow morning, and spending at least two weeks...

I'll be staying at the Orleans and flying out in the back lot whenever weather / time permits

Anyone in Las Vegas yet?

I'm headed to a park just west of the Orleans on Tropicana to fly the nQX 3D, 200QX and 350QX

First day of the Fun Fly is history...

Not a terrific turnout, but a great group of guys and some insane flying...

Met Alan Szabo Jr and Sr, and found out that Sr takes absolutely NO responsibility for Jr's insane flying...

"I taught him to fly planes as a boy...this helicopter thing is his own insanity"


Of at least 50 hard 3D flights, there was only one catastrophe...and the garbage can has the remnants of a (total loss) Trex 700 to prove it

Day 2 is about to get under way...

Pro Pilot Demos officially begin at noon, but Alan Jr should be there well before then

BTW...William Bennett Field is located directly north of the UNLV Silver Bowl...

Take Russel Road to the dead end (past the soccer parks)

Turn left and go to the first (and only) entrance road...

Turn right then a quick left onto the brand new asphalt (no outlet) road and follow it around to the field at the end of the road

Had some great flying on Saturday...a bit of wind in the afternoon, but for the most part it was a great time...

Only downer was the totaled 570 Goblin by one of the locals...

The food was great, the hosts were fantastic...

Open flying session on Sunday...I'll be there !

Come early if you want to avoid the afternoon winds...it's been calm every morning prior to 10am

Sunday's open flying session was a blast for several hours, then the trusty desert breeze took micro's out of the picture...

A great time overall, met some wonderful folks and saw some great demo's

The locals were wonderful hosts, and it looks like the LVRC will host bigger and better events every year

hi heliaddict69,
what does the average weather look like out there for the January time?
besides it is usually a rough month for me too travel due to all the holidays finally ending.
definitely can make it for a march time frame again though.

I would love to commit right now, but things being as they are, I cannot...

But if any of My PowerBall picks hit...
