Default BCP needs longer main shaft, help!

Scale project is going to require longer main shaft on BCP. Anybody have an idea what I should get to fab new shaft. Can ya get drill rod the exact same O.D. as stock shaft or is the stock shaft some kind of a manufacturers morphed size to thwart would-be do-it-yourselfers?

Century's main shaft for the HB CP2 is longer than the stock one and comes with a removeable main gear. You can even buy an autorotation gear for it. I got mine from Heli-direct.

Buy the main gear from the CP2, pull the 3mm shaft out of a cdrom and carefully drill your shear pin holes. Better yet, order the gear and let me know what distance you'll need and I'll send you one. The hardest part in that respect will be getting links long enough. You'll need some 2mm threaded rod and threaded links. Let me know if you decide on the auto gear or standard, I think they use a different shear pin and I'll need to know the dimension. I have the auto gear so if you decide on that one I can do that size from mine.

PM me with the actual length you need and I'll make it.
