Default Cyclic servos for 450 PRO FBL

Freaks, are there any digital cyclic servos operating on 6V suitable for 450 PRO FBL that are decent enough quality/spec wise and that would cost around 20$ each?

+1, nope.

Do not go cheap on servos for flybarless. the faster and more torque the servo has the better the FBL system will act. FBL is just like the tail gyro, slow, low torque servos will give bad performance with gyros. get the fastest most torque metal gear servo you can afford.

I know they might be out of your prce range, but I just installed the new MKS ds95 cyclic servos and the ds95i on the tail, and WOW, my FBL 450 pro handles incredibly better then my old set up with the align ds410's with a 9257 on the tail.

What about MKS servos? I know I would have to go 5V...

...but DS470/460/450 and DS530 have better spec than 5065MG on 6V and can be found for around 20-25$ each. Is there something wrong with them?

DS470 http://mksservo.digart039.com/goods.php?goods_id=ds470

DS460 http://mksservo.digart039.com/goods.php?goods_id=ds460
Torque: 5V/ 2.83 Kg.cm (39.3 oz/in)
Speed: 0.096s

DS450 http://mksservo.digart039.com/goods.php?goods_id=ds450

DS530 http://mksservo.digart039.com/goods.php?goods_id=ds530

MKS are some of of the best servos available on the market today. the 530, 470 and 460 look like they would be fine. the 450 looks a little on the slow side. ds530 seems to be the ticket. You can use a step down between the esc and reciever for voltage drop, if you cant program the esc to 5v.

I hear great things about MKS. Not sure about the 400's though because they have a hump that look like they would get in the way on a pro(would be fine for the sport or V2 though). The 530 looks fine though since the output shaft/arm could go on any configuration(but the 530 is slightly on the slow side).

530 is a little slower than the align 410's but the torque is much higher, so it will actually feel much faster than the align 410's, the torque will help the servo get moving quicker and just all around smooth out the start and stops. you can have a super fast servo, but if the torque is not there it wont matter, it will still feel slow. Torque and speed work together.

+1

Read the specs carefully. You'll see some servos that seem to have insane speed but you'll also notice the torque is low. Some companies sacrifice the torque for the speed, which gives you quicker travel through the range but will crap on you when you induce a load with anything greater than normal forces from scale flying.

The mark of a strong/quick servo is one that maintains both speed and torque. This is what makes MKS desirable in today's FBL world.

Compare both specs when shopping for servos, imo.

I agree....both torque and speed are needed. I'm basing the minimum off of what is listed in the Align 3g manual for the 450's. All the MKS have more than enough torque! Ideally the DS95's are the ticket though for FBL cyclics.

Like I said both specs are definately important. I have used the DS410's on my 450 Pro and it is definately good enough for more than just scale flying. Tic tocs are clean and without any weird crap going on.

While on the subject....dont' forget to consider slop and centering ability into the equation of a good servo.
