Helidirect very very slow and buggy!

Last night, it was slow and buggy and spewing Magento stack traces to the screen.

Today, it's very very slow -- logins take 1-2 minutes, bring up shopping cart -- takes 5+ .

It takes extra talent to screw up a good website.

I like the new site, it's much cleaner and easier to find stuff. It's only slow because it's being hammered by customers trying to buy discounted stuff at the last minute. On my PC it doesn't take as long as on yours. Logging on took about 10 seconds vs the normal speed of 3 seconds. Cart takes about the same or slightly longer maybe 15 seconds.

How many concurrent users is their site designed to support? 100? 200? 500? By concurrent, I mean simultaneously doing stuff, not just hitting navigation buttons once every 30 seconds. This is a useful metric when designing systems.

Their new site is slow and Magento is a POS or else their developers don't know what they are doing. It ain't my computer or network connection because it happens from different geographical locations and different devices. I also don't care for the new UI look (and the f'ing search is stupidly broken).

I guess I can take my business elsewhere, if it pisses me off enough. But I've managed to work around the bugs most of the time -- primarily avoiding doing any shopping on their website during the hours of about 11:30 pm to about 3 am eastern time.

I got on the site the 3rd and 4th with no noticeable issues. I even wrote the sales help desk an email and they responded very promptly, even being the holiday weekend. Got my order placed and its on its way.
