Default V2.1 October 2011 Manual

Apparently, there is a new manual dated October 2011 of the 550E FBL. The head is very similar to that of the 600EFL Pro with the detachable "main rotor holder arms". The main gear is 112T slanted, and the motor pinion is 11T slanted. I have a few pages of the manual that were scanned by another member of Helifreak.

As Align has not posted this new manual online that I can find, can anyone suggest were I can find a full copy of this manual, other than purchasing a new kit? Otherwise, would there be someone willing to scan and post the full Oct 2011 manual? Thanks.

It turns out that the head is not just very similar to the 600EFL Pro head. It is the same head. Confirmed by Tim from alignrcusa.com.

I have a 550E V2 from August, do you know if blade grips are interchangable (if I bend a grip arm, don't really want to buy a new head block as well?).

Also can I just change to slant main gear and pinion (for quieter running, I don't have any issues with original gears) - I assume the hub/auto gear are all same as v2 ?

Auto gear is the same but you will need 600PRO Main Gear Case Set H60200.

Hope that helps

There appears to be a list of 'required' parts in the description for the 11T helical pinion:
http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/h550...r-p-16830.html

H55071 - Motor Pinion Helical Gear 11T M1
H60200 - 600PRO Main Gear Case Set
H70020A - CNC Slant Thread Main Drive Gear/112T
H60198 - 131T M0.8 Autorotation Tail Drive Gear
H60228 or H60229 - Torque Tube Front Drive Gear Set (not sure of the difference - H60228 is 34T and all I can find)

Might have to give this a shot on my V1. The 600 Pro is amazingly quiet on helical, wondering if the 550 would be the same :-)

My parts to change my V1 are waiting for me to get home from vacation.
The 550 V2.1 is very quiet and far less vibration - heavy 3D pilots don't like the lower speed tail drive.
