Just what I thought, when I decided to press the buy button on the one with external mini-sd.
And now enter the so familiar waiting process...

You can't change the location. There's many different versions of this camera (invernal memory, external SD, different resolutions...) To set the time on the micro SD version (720X480 30FPS) camera make a file called Tag.txt and put it in your root directory of the SD card.

Edit the txt with the following:

[date]
2009/10/23
09:35:00

Edit the settings above. Next time you turn the camera, it will set and delete the Tag.txt file.

The instructions that came with the camera were not correct.

His is the higher resolution one. 720x480 instead of 640x480. When mine arrives i will post a video on youtube with it on a Trex 600N so you lot can see what the one with the built in 8GB memory is on a nitro.

I'm using a separate 4 GB card.
The unit is easy to open and uses a common single cell lipo that can be replaced.

I stuck a piece of Velcro on the lower side of the case and then used a Velcro strap to secure it under the Logo.

The micro guys are removing the case and battery and powering it from the micro's single cell lipo.

Takes a separate card up to 16 GB.

Recording takes about 85 MB/minute.

Ok, got the card too, now it's a wait til it shows up in the mail box.

85mg per minute, 8gb card should do how much footage?

Rough math puts an 8gb card at about 96 minutes of record time.

Nice.

Thanks Rob!

I was thinking the same thing. I'll only pay so much so it didn't matter.

No problem man!

I stuck to the 4 GB card because the on board battery is good for about an hour.

I've realized I bought the 640x480 version instead of the 720x480. It'l be interesting to see how it turns out. I doubt there will a huge difference. That 720x480 looked really good so i can live with a little degradation. i just didn't want to mess with an external card, I just wanted something that will be a little fun.

And yes, I will be strapping it to my cats.
