Default DFC bolts

Hey guys it seems like some guys are getting the black bolts and others are getting the silver bolts. So I made a poll to see who's getting what! So if you could please vote and possibly put the date you bought the DFC head, because maybe the bolts are coming in different batches?

Thanks!

I think the 600 DFC bolts are black. I haven't heard about silver bolts except for the 700 DFC head.

That's what I thought too, until I read the posts in the thread titled "600DFC in stock anywhere?"

It's starting to make me wonder why both black and silver are out there on the DFC head

Picked up the heads at my LHS on 2/15/2012. Both have silver bolts. Just for fun I've posted a couple of pics.

CA = earthquakes Crashing a heli simply because it fell off a shelf would really irritate me... I simply made two sets of X's using small bungies and little eye screws. I did bend the hooks completely closed around the eye screws by the wall. hehe captive bungies.

Haha no kidding. I'm easily amused. I like how you can fold the blades back n let them sit up right on the shelf.

I hope they sell the bolts separately at some point. The shop I bought them from here in France is so worthless that I don't even want to go through that with them. My ordered was incomplete and they sent me b surface edge tails instead of the real deal at premium price... 2 weeks later still fighting to get this right...

I thought the black bolts were the standard low carbon alloy and the silver bolts were the new harder high carbon alloy ?

That's what I thought, and that Align only included the black bolts for the 600 head. Now, maybe I have to go back to Assurance ant get the higher carbon bolts.

For the people who are getting the silver bolts, did you just receive your head in the last week? I'm starting to think maybe the people with the black ones got the early batch?

Just got mine today from GrandRC. It has the new silver high strength carbon steel bolts.

Personally I would not fly the black.

Both the 600 DFC and 700 DFC kits I bought last week from www.flyhelirus.com have the silver bolts.

Black one is the one they recall.
Silver bolts fix the problem.

Trex 600 DFC
Your Trex 600 DFC arms should already have the upgrade. This was done prior to our first release. Please note that on the DFC 600 Rotor Head the bolts supplied are black. On the 700 DFC they are a chrome finish. So your DFC 600 is good for flight.
If in doubt just look at diagram posted and look closely at the Pitch link bolts that should provide a good visual.

That's what I thought until people started getting the silver ones? If only we would get a straight answer!

I am interested in this head, I know its used for crazy 3d. I do mild 3d and feel it wouldnt make a difference for me. Does it increase stability also or something other than just wild 3d ability?

Default Looking at the bolt

The black bolt also appears to be CNC’ed. The head is smooth unlike my other shouldered bolts that have ribbing parallel to tthe length on the head.

Got mine a week or so ago from Flyhelirus and the bolts are silver. Put everything together and swapped the BeastX for the ar7200BX today. It all went perfectly and should be ready for the maiden when the weather clears. Using Rail 606's and 96 tails.
