Default Weird Swash movement????

OK,

So, I've completed the build and JC was nice enough to come over and help me understand eCCPM set ups. I've got things set up pretty good, but my linkages weren't all at 90 degrees because I can't see a straight line to save my life. After JC helped getting those set up we worked on looking at any interactions. Without a bubble level I wasn't able to tell for sure, but things look pretty good.

JC was playing with the controls and noticed that the swash plate goes up for negative pitch and down for positive pitch. He thought it was backwards. I looked at the directions again and the pictures posted on ElyQs website and the build looks good. When the swash goes down, pitch increases on the blade grips. The blades have trailing edge control, meaning the grip arms are behind the leading edge.

Does anyone know if this is OK and if there is something that could mess up control? Doesn't this sound weird? On then Bergen with leading edge control the swash goes up and the pitch goes up. The other difference is the ElyQ has the flybar on top, although I wouldn't think that would be the cause.

Let me know what you think,

Lou

Some helis are designed that way, the Blade 400 and the Raptor 60/90 are a couple that I know of.

j bomb,

Thanks. I can't find anything I've done wrong from the directions or pictures I've seen. It just looks weird.

Lou

You are correct with the build. When the swash moves up you get negative pitch and vice versa.

Marcus,

Thanks. Did you notice that the heli is tail heavy with a standard build?

Also, I ended up making the distance on the eccpm servo arms 16.5MM instead of 13.5MM as indicated in teh manual so as to avoid binding at full negative collective and full elevator. Do you think this is OK.

What are your pitch ranges for collective, elevator and aileron?

Thanks,
Lou

Yea since I've only looked at a "Raptor" from a distance, I didn't know some helis were set-up this way. Pitch was correct, but... well you know the rest of the story.
It flies so all is good.

That also all depends on what's considered normal. On the Vision and the Raptor it would be considered normal.

Swash tilt right, left, forward, and backwards are all the same as normal... and not backwards.

The only weird thing about this Heli is how well it flies considering its price
