Post YAY!

Finally just pulled the trigger on the servos and decided to get the MKS DS95s for the cyclics and the MKS DS95i for the tail

Can't wait!

Wow, awesome combo! I love my 92A+'s and 95i tail...the extra for the DS95 was just too much of a stretch as I needed to get them for two helis.

Prob the very best 450 class servos you can get. The DS95's look seriously impressive with their polished solid metal ends too!

I mainly got them so they don't strip in crashes. Will I feel a difference with them when flying?

I've had three crazy crashes on the MKS servos and all good so far.

They fly way better than stock...major difference in precision and smoothness. They especially make the heli fly better in the wind. My stock 450X which was really locked in was a pig in 20-40km/h winds (naturally). I changed the servos that arvo, flew in the same conditions and it was so locked in...the extra precision and torque makes a big difference in allowing the BX to control the attitude of the heli.

And if you ever get tail wag with the stock setup, it's time to say goodbye to it.

I replaced the servo's on my first X with Hitec's. Had couple good crashes - only the tail gears went.

I notice on the Hitec 5084MG that the very first gear (drive by the servo) is actually plastis - this is what failed on the Hitec tail servo - so not full metal

B3NNZ, would be good to catchup for a fly in ChCh sometime. I don't belong to any club tho - my biggest is 450 size so no need.

Would it be an idea to get the DS92A+s instead of the DS95s.

DS92A+ are basically the same as the DS95's apart from the metal end caps and a tiny (I mean tiny) difference in speed.

Both have a coreless motor, both use good gears (which I believe are the same, will find out eventually I guess if they strip).

They are about $100 cheaper for the cyclics though. I love mine and am really happy that I went with them over the 95's. The metal end of 95i looks pretty awsome on the tail (if you care about this) but you can't really see the 'bling' once then cyclics are screwed in.

I reckon go for the A+'s as you can then spend the extra cash on another heli or parts etc.
