Some manufacturers offer slotted frames and a selection of pinions.

I guess I've got to work with my 6.07:1 gear ratio then. Not a problem at all I hope.

I've been searching for some fuel here in Holland, and in my local shop I found these bottles with Coleman.

Is this the fuel everybody talks about? If yes, I'm going to buy one bottle and try to use this. I hope so, because it's cheap, and it's not far buying it!
And of course, it doesn't smell.
But my main question. Is this THE fuel I need to buy, if I want to try coleman? Or is it another coleman fuel?

That looks like it - but i've only ever seen it in 1 Gallon metal cans..

Just make sure it's "Camping Fuel" and the contents should basically say ...Hydrocarbons..

You will find it's probably 3-5 times the price of normal petrolium (on average, depending on country ) - was about $25AU per gallon when petrol cost about $4 gal - but i know petrol is more expensive in europe as well..

make sure you mix it with oil as per normal petrol..

But if you're not worried about petrol smell - just use normal petrol as there is no real other benefit.. i think maybe the colemans leave less carbon deposits in the engine - but don't quote me on that..

That looks like it.

Exact same logo as available in the USA.
Used for camp stoves and lanterns, and of course gasser heli's!

The Radikal 30 has slotted frames and a few different gear ratio options.

If you were careful, existing frames could be slotted with a jewelers file.

Yea - the Radikal G20 can have a 13T or 14T pinion on the same frames - but you need to change the main gear also from memory (could be wrong on that part)...

WOW! $25.00AU/gal in Australia compared to $4.00AU for gasoline!!

The highest I have paid for Coleman Camper Fuel here in Canada was $11.00CDN/gal while gasoline is $5.44CDN/gal, so that is only double the price. Well worth it IMHO just to keep the gasoline smell out of the workshop.

Yea - sux out here..

To give you an idea.. current AU - US exchange rate is close to 1:1 so i'll talk in $AU but it's basically the a same as $US at the moment..

* 4L of shellite at local hardware (Bunnings) is $28 now
* Colmans is basically non-existant now, I havn't been able to find anyone with it in Syd for the past year. But a year ago it was about $24 for the 3.75L (1Gal) can - shellite was the same price then.
* Petrol - premium unleaded (as our normal contains 10% ethanol so i don't use it) is about $1.60L. Regular unleaded (if your local dealer has it) is about $1.35L

so actually about $6 per gal of petrol here - not $4 - sorry..

I agree - if either (colemans / shellite) were only double petrol price here - would be worth it for the lack of smell..
But alas, we are looking at about 4x the price here

So the AU$ is much like the CDN$ relative to the US$...all close to par with each other.

It is a wonder why your camper fuels are so expensive?

What is the cost of 100LL aviation fuel in Oz? I have found that works very well also, is relatively odourless. here in Canada, it is even less then Coleman as it sells of about $1.90/liter.

hmmm - never knew you could use aviation fuel.. don't know how much it is or where i'd get it..

maybe someone else in Oz here knows..

Not sure why it's so expensive - probably the import costs.. also, anything exotic (speciallity stuff) tends to get marked up a lot by the end retailers over here..

Default pinion

the 27t pinion came with the ********* conversion and is bulkier than the stock align pinions.

Used 3M tape. I hope there's no vibration at all...

Soon going to set up everything. After that, only left to put some hot glue on the connectors.

Soon I'll going to try maiden my gasser. If I'll use Coleman fuel, do I still need to mix it with some oil like Castrol TTS? Or doesn't Coleman need any oil mixing used in my zenoah engine?

Just don't want the smell of gasoline in my house...

Bought myself new canopy. Now matches with my 550e.

You must use oil or you will destroy the engine. Mix oil into Coleman at a ratio of 32:1. Use a high quality two stroke oil. I am not familiar with the Castrol. One very good oil in your area of the World is Motul 800 2T, sold at most motorcycle shops.

Good advice with most oils, but a 32:1 mix with Amsoil Saber Professional 100:1 would be too much. With it, for break in you may go 50:1, and afterwords 65:1.

That said, this summer, after 5 years at 65:1 on two gassers, I may think I will try 80:1 with one of the engines, just to compare.
