Looks pretty darn good to me considering the equipment, though you might want to check the balance on your blades, and try adding a foam pad under the cam.
Might help smooth out any vibration waves.

Good call on the foam pad, going to have to try that.

I didn't know you could balance these quad prop blades, how do you do that?

Thanks to everyone that says the video is good. My hands really weren't that steady, since I wanted to crop off the date of the keychain cam and see how smooth I could get the video I let iMovie do its stabilization thing. That helped with some of the wobbles.

PSOne, any details yet on that setup of yours?

Great! Can't wait. I like the design with just the two legs so they don't get in the shot. Holding out till this is ready

Well, I ordered my second quad from PhotoShip One, due to the fact I smoked my gyro and I can't get replacement parts yet. Yes, I was being stupid and it was around 2am and I wanted to change out the plug to deans type I wired it up wrong.... Then POOOFFF! smoked..... That was a $200+ mistake!

At least, once the replacement parts are available I'll have two quads..... <smile>

You smoked your Gyro? I assume the GU-344 is gone

FCA

BTW: I have new ESC inbound, so have no use for the stock Gaui ESC that came with the quad, I only have 3 that appear to be functional, I so this because the other day one went up in smoke.

So if you need 3 or less to get you quad back in the air, let me know

They will arrive in less than 2 weeks.

Jack,

Thanks for the offer. My dealer is PhotoShip One. And yes I'm not shy when it comes to saying that I made a big mistake... <smile>

Again thanks. I'm looking forward in getting spare parts also to keep my now fleet of quad's flying.

My exciting little keychain cam video:

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwSZ5yH-KtQ[/ame]

Got a little high up at dusk, it was a little windy, lost orientation, had just enough time to recover but then the momentum was too much and well... you'll see

This thing is a tough little sucker. It did pop out one of the motor plates(with motor) and bent one of the frame arms slightly but I was able to bend it back and put the motor plate back in the arm and CA it back together. One of the blades got bent as well so I had to bend it back. Sure would like to get a set of replacement blades as I'm a little leery of the compromised blade. However, I did a quick test today and all seems well.

I've got to quit flying this thing in the wind.

Default ATTACK of the QUAD!

I was so excited that my 330 had arrived yesterday. I couldn't get to it until about 10:00pm, so I stayed up until almost 1:00 putting it together.

This morning I was stoked to try it out. I have a new RX and lipos on the way, but they have not arrived yet. But, I have a little old park flyer rx, and an older lipo that gets used for powering the video tx on my camera ship, so I was ready to go. Or so I thought!

Long story short, the antenna on the little rx had come disconnected, so when I tried to initialize the esc's they made a funny little noise, paused about 4 sec, and then went to full power. Foolishly I chose to test the motors with the props in place, so the little Gaui shot off my desk toward the ceiling. My reflex reaction was to bat it out of the air, with my hands (I think to try to protect it from the likely damage of hitting the wall or ceiling, dunno, it all happened so fast)

Two things saved me, and the quad. First, I have the reflexes of a jungle cat, and was able to get my hands on it before it hit the ceiling, second, when I swatted it, the battery got knocked loose, and disconnected the power. One prop came unscrewed, no damage to the Quad.

I on the other hand, have several nasty slices on my fingers from being prop chopped. While I'll live, I don't recommend trying to stop the blades of these little monsters with your hands! I was really quite lucky, upon blast off the blades passed within inches of my face

Quite certain the bad RX is at fault. I swapped it out for another, and had a very short and mellow maiden hover in the back yard. Batteries on charge now. This thing is going to be fun but it will be a while before I plug in the battery without a little fear in my heart !

Wow, glad everything turned out ok Andrew. Good thing it wasn't a runaway heli. I set mine up without the props on just in case something crazy like that happened. Make sure your props are tight and loctited. That was the first thing that came off my quad since the threads don't have much to bite on. Now that you got that over with...go have some fun with it!
