Default Training wheels off today! With a heart stopper.

After 5 gallon`s and a couple of rebuilds I decide to loose the gear today.
I ran her up once with it on and hovered it around, then I convinced myself to loose the sticks .
It was a different bird,a little squirrel`y , but a lot more responsive.
Holly Hell I just did it!!!
Decide to push the envelope and try it again, I got her right off the grass and half way in it happened!
I NOW KNOW THE SOUND OF FEAR !!
Blades covering came off at 12 feet. JHC!! Like I don`t have enough to worry about right now.
In a panicked but controlled landing she came back in one peice.
OK now I just have to learn how to fly.
Thank You for all the help.

Has your sphincter loosened up again yet?

what I found to help ease the mental transition to losing the training gear was to keep shortening the sticks. It allowed me to get used to the more responsive heli without the sudden change.

Since this will only be my second season flying I'm thinking of picking up some more gear to help with being rusty from the winter plus getting used to a couple new models I've added to the fleet.
