Hyperion Carbon Fiber Trex blades

Do any of you guys run them?

I just got a set in the mail today and for the money they look real nice. They were almost perfectly balanced out of the package and fit my blade grips much better than the Align woodies did.

I don't have the Hyperions, but I have what some call the "Unbranded" Hyperions. Apparently they're the same blade, maybe not balanced as well, since I had to add quite a bit of tape to get it even. However, they run very well. The Unbranded ones are definitely cheaper, but if you want something better, expect to shell out $50 for a set of Radix blades.

Its funny I was very used to paying $100 for blades when I ran the big nitro heli's so paying $25 for carbon blades is great. I am looking forward to flying these blades and comparing them to the woodies.

Switched to the Hyperions when I upgraded to the Medusa motor. I've had 4 "incidents" since and the blades survived! I'm sure I would have had to replaced the woodies in each case if I was running them. With this set of blades, I think I've actually come out ahead in the $ department which was an unexpected suprise.

I have 3 sets of "unbranded" $24 blades for backup. Haven't had to use them yet, but if they are anything like the Hyperions, they seem like they'll be the best deal in town. With 6 blades, I figure I'll be able to match them up pretty well if they don't end up balancing as a set.

I've run them for about 4 months now, been through about 4 sets Compared to the carbon fiber Align blades they are much lighter and faster to respond. I never flew woodies so I can't compare. I just got a couple sets of Radix to try out (had a gift card to burn ) so I'll let you guys know if there's any noticeable difference in performance (so far as I can tell anyway) once I try them.

As far as dimensions, the Radix are exactly the same length, even though some list them as 315's. (it's 315mm from tip to blade bolt, apparently) They are .5mm wider and .25mm thicker, but both of these blades come to a very sharp trailing edge and are very nicely made. Not sure about weight; feels about the same but I don't have a scale...

I don't think you could find any blade meant for a 400 - 450 size heli that could fit as bad or any worse than the Align woodies .

Heh so true. The unbranded Hyperion blades are about 18 grams a set I believe, compared with 22-24 grams a set for the PRO woodies.

Well I got 3 flights on the Radix yesterday. About the only difference from the Hyperions I can tell is they're easier to see. Also either my tracking changed or it's just easier to tell they're out of track. Otherwise I can't tell any difference, nice and responsive. Not sure they're worth the extra $ to be honest, unless you're a pro and can actually 'feel' a difference...
