Default 18SZ FW error for Castle TL0

There seems to be a math error in the new Telemetry Link feature for head speed calculation. The motor RPM is getting multiplied by the gear ratio instead of divided. Is this a known issue and is there an update in the works?

A gear ratio can presumably be quoted in both directions: i.e. 1 : 5 or 5 ; 1 depending on you system perspective. I.e. just use the reciprocal value of your previous input (0.2 rather than 5) to give correct value? (if it is truelly just a matter of multiplying rather than dividing in this situation). I apologise if I am just being stupid, as I frequently am these days - getting old and senile!

Good idea, but it won't let you enter the ratio backwards. The 18sz only lets you input one number in the ratio (the first number) and it will not let you enter a value <1. If I enter "1" for the ratio it shows the correct motor rpm. If I enter my gear ratio (8.5) then it tells me my max head speed is 173,723 rpm! LOL

Yes, there is an issue. I brought this up to Nick Maxwell at Huntsville. He was working on it and sent me some new software to try. So far, so good. Waiting for Nick/Futaba to make this update go live.

I was able to get in touch with Nick a while ago and a few of us have been working with him and Clint on it also. Hopefully we'll have it all squared away soon.

Talking with Nick over the weekend at XFC. Software looking good, now Futaba Japan has to finish going over it before update can go live.

Hi guys, just a heads up - Castle released new Castle Link software and ESC firmware today with their fix and the 18sz firmware 1.7 which implements the math error fix should be available any day. Head speed on my tx agreed with my Castle logs within 5 RPM.
