Sounds good and sales should go well in that price range.

That head looks like the RJX - I find the pitch link connections to the blade grips to be quite fragile.

The head was modeled after the compass tracx head. I can assure you the links on the blackwidow head are extremely strong. The ones that come with the rjx are a little ehh. in my opinion they pop off to easy. ive switched mine to the rocket links

I think its a given that this heli will never make it to the public ( going on two years now) ..Mods should delete this thread.

Very sad it hasn't come out to the public yet. Tho I do not fly for RCA anymore
My 550 has not had a single issue(nearly 300+ flights) when and if it comes to public
Will sure be a blast to fly.

Should this thread really be a sticky? There are only a couple old pictures of one guys pre-release demo helicopter that has never actually been released to the public in over a year since the original post. Where are all these pictures supposed to come from? Just sayin'

Fair enough.

I think I was just in a bad mood when I posted that yesterday. Carry on

Well it's finally out, not exactly a V1 clone, or a straight clone at all really. It appears to be using Trex 600N bearing blocks and boom mount for a wider frame and they used the rudder servo mount from the Trex 600E Pro. It also has a third bearing block and I suspect the two upper bearing blocks are spaced further apart to accept a Trex 600N DFC mainshaft. The head is a Compass TracX copy and it also looks like they took the Trex 600N anti rotation bracket and fit the edges into slots in the frame.

Default motor mount

I have received my Chaos 550 and almost finished. but I have a few issue and one of them is about motor mount. since I've got only the kit without the motor and electronics, I decided to built with my own setup so I got this Align 730MX dominator motor but unfortunately this motor's mount screw doesn't fit to stock motor mount. Is anybody had same problem or just me? which heli's motor mount can fit to Chaos 550? any help appreciated...

Smile Trex 550L Dominator with speed fuselage.

Just figured I'd post my new 550L Dominator photo, I'm enjoying it

Switched to some 6s 6800 Mah batteries to add some flight time. Did notice an improvement in speed, but a slight loss in flight time due to the speed fuselage using 5000Mah. (Hard to say for I sure, I really went for max throttle) But I love complete fuselages, used them on some scale projects and the do add a nice aerodynamic feed to the helicopter.

I think it improved the looks and is more visible in flight. I find the fuse fit better than my original. (I think I'll still add a small washer to make the front mounts go on easier...

Specs: Standard Motor that comes with the kit version.
550 Revolution Blades
92mm Zeal on the tail
Hobbywing 100a v3
Hobbywing 20a UBEC
Spektrum 9020x RX
Glitch buster with two Spektrum remote sats.
BeastX Plus upgraded to version 4.2.0
Savok servos (1580TG on cyclic and a 1290tg on the tail (Super speed, works well)

Bumped up the voltage on the servos to 7.4 on the UBEC to get more speed, so far no problems. The servos came of an old project so I saved some mon-ay!
