Default Tail vibration help

I am having an issue with a tail vibration that is driving me nuts!!! Its not the tail rotor shaft, I have tried two new ones and put one on a dial indicator. Both tail bearings are new. If I remove the whole tail hub and grips and just leave the pitch slider on the shaft the vibration goes away. Here is what is killing me, I even tried putting my new tail rotor hub and grips from my fusion 50. Still getting a strong vibration. The only part that I think it could be would be the pitch slider.

Anyone have any thoughts?

What about blades? Are they the same weight? Balanced? Have they hit the ground at all removing any material from one or both? You mentioned changing everything but blades... just wondering.

Oops sorry I should have said that this is with no blades on. I'm testing this indoors.

Can you static balance the hub and grips? Try balancing the entire tail assembly. I think Sly does this with good results.

You may want to check the balance of the whole tail rotor on a Dubro Spin first. Also, I had quite a few tail hubs that were bent NIP, not enough to be visible to the eye, but more than enough to create nasty vibrations. Try another tail hub, the Velocity 50/Fusion 50 is the same as the one in the O550 I believe:

Oh, I missed that in your post. Maybe there is a difference in weight between the tail grips. It's worth checking the balance of the whole tail rotor on a DuBro Tru Spin.

I just ordered the dubro balancer and a whole new tail so I know I will get to the bottom of this.

I picked up a new scale today and one grip is about a gram lighter than the other. One is a solid 7 grams and the other shows 6 but does bounce to 7 grams but then goes back to 6. So its could be about a half gram or so off.

Well I just bought this mystery vibe bird. Ill report back if I get it fixed with the old parts. Ive noticed the outrage tail can be tricky to get setup without any binding. If any little part in there is tweaked its messed up.

Here is the myster answer!!! The sk 720 will give you mental games. They have two different vibration level recordings. One is in there playback and one is in there vibration recording. They are different levels and I didin't know that. I did have a small vibration but the shaft did just need a little oil!!
