Default Hobbywing Platinum Pro 120A HV-Opto for 7.2?

Hi,
I already have the above ESC and wonder if I can use it with the Agile 7.2 which I plan to order (there is a good sale going on). I only sport fly and no 3D at all, not even invert. Would this be ok or should I get a 160 A ESC instead ? Thank you.

For just sport flying the 120 should be fine. When you start to push things a little you need the 160. A good POWER loop may challenge the 120.

Thanks Paul. Just a little curious, when you say 'A good Power loop my challenge the 120' could you pls. elaborate? I just want to make sure I understand the drawback of using this ESC with Agile 7.2 thoroughly. Hate to buy anothe ESC if this one will do for my style of flying. Thank you.

I used to fly my agile 7.2 with a 120A YEP and it coped fine. This included sports aerobatics like big loops etc. and some sloppy rainbows etc. but no true 3D

Except for poor internal gov, the esc is robust. I have no doubts to use it on a 700 size and do some light 3d.

Coming out of a big loop with a lot of speed can be some of the highest and most sustained amp draw an ESC can experience.

Thanks guys, that was sufficient for me to make up my mind to use this ESC instead of getting a higher spec one as I fly fairly tamely. In fact, I fly with Naza H FBL controller so it's pretty much slow circuit flying.
