Scorpion 160a No Longer Connects to PC Software

Hey Guys,

Bought the Scorpion USB PC Software link cable so I can program my controller via PC. Worked a few times and now it no longer connects to the PC software. When I plug everything up, the controller arms. What gives?

Opened up the Device Manager on my Windows 10 PC to see if the driver needed updating. Getting an ERROR code:

This device cannot start. (Error Code 10)

Anyone have this problem before?

When I went to Win 10 the Scorpion usb link stopped working. I had to change the driver to the 2011 version for the usb link to work.

Where did you find the driver for the 2011 version? I couldn't find the driver on the prolific website. Can you provide a link to the correct driver?

when I tried to update the driver there was a list of driver to choose from and I picked the earliest one which is the 2011 version.

I think I found the problem. The Scorpion VLink Cable I received is defective. Take a look at what I found in the attached Prolific Driver Installation Manual. Page 5:

Warning!!!
If you are encountering yellow mark (Error Code 10) for device in Device Manager, you need to contact the cable vendor or manufacturer for Prolific genuine chip validity. Prolific does not manufacture any end-user cable products and will not provide direct support to end-users.

This is the reason why I've not been able to get a USB connection no matter what I've tried. I also remember reading a while back in some other forum that there were issues with the Vlink cable. The user eventually had to hack into the Vlink USB cable and solder something to get it to work correctly. I neither have the time nor the desire to go through all that crap. So I'm just returning the cable. If anyone else know of another solution, please let me know.
