Just realized there's no dedicated TDR setup thread here, like we have in the minicopter section, and the "show your TDR" pic thread can be tedious to sift through if you're only looking for TDR setups...


I'll go first:


- 2011 TDR

- Pyro 700-52, 14T pinion

- PowerJive 120+ HV v9, mode 4+9, 5,6v bec, 800mah bufferpack

- 3x BLS 253

- Full size V-bar 5.2pro/ BLS 251

- Futaba r6008hs rx

- GCT/ Mavrikk 710 FBL

- SAB 105mm

- Micktech NACA duct and frame X-brace

Sold TDR:
- 2010 TDR, fixed head
- Pyro 700-52, 14T
- PowerJive 120, v9 (if i remember), mode 11, 6V, no buffer, +P +I -Smooth and timing to +12 for best performance
- 3x BLS451
- 1x BLS251
- mini Vbar black
- 2x Spektrum sat
- Henseleit blades, Radix FBL 710, then SpinBlades white 710 for long time
- Edge 105mm
- Tenax canopy mounts, replacing tail clevis with ball link, CF plate over the miniV (similar mount like dual Vbar mount from Rob)
- 2x Hyperion 45C 2x6S 4200mAh (2x 300 cycles) and later 2x6S Billowy 50C 5200mAh again two pairs (2x 50 cycles)
- sold after about 700 flights, no failures except unscrewing servo arms (not loctited) and the resulting crash around flight 450
- Pyro bearings wasted after 100 flights, after replacing and leaving gap for the smallest bearing another 300-400 flights without replace

TDR in build:
- 2011 (three tail bearings, two tail rod guides), fixed head (white inserts)
- Scorpion 4525LE + Mick NACA and frame X brace
- YGE 160HV with heatsink (does not fit inside frame! working on that)
- 3x JR MP82S WV
- 1x Outrage BL9188
- silverline Vbar with Rob dual mount, will use Vbar gov
- WR Super BEC will be set at 8.4V regulated
- the same 2x Spektrum sats until Jeti thumb radio will be released (should be 3-4 months from now), then RSat 2 + Jeti 200A MUI probe
- SpinBlades MattBlack
- Edge 105mm (maybe MS Composit black later)
- Heli-Innovations landing gear (longer ones)
- will use my 12S Billowy packs, with an option to go 14S later

I am hoping this one will be so good it will last for 3+ years, because i love TDR and i want to have it loaded as best as possible, but not to overpower it.

I must say that after getting new strong packs and also after tuning the Jive, the power was just right and it was a real pleasure to fly it. But the new kit is waiting for looong time and so i sold the old one to be forced to build new, better one.

I thought this too with the vids so created a vids post but its like no one flys the TDR?

Vids are hard to find and again it gets tedious going through that long thread to find them but I do like looking at the awesome pics
