Default tail jumping sideways?

I just got a Chaos 600E, trying to set it up. Got the tail set with gyro in normal mode, so it doesn't have to work as hard in HH. I have someone at the field who has set it up for me, because I am learning to fly heli's. I can hover fine, also have an older T-Rex 450XL, that I have been hovering for a while. About ready to try forward flight.
My question is, when I am hovering, my tail will jump sideways about an inch, every five seconds or so. It's not a waggle, it's more abrupt than that. I have checked the tail drive and it the mesh on the gears is good.
Any ideas?
Thanks, H.D.

Check to verify that the grub screw is tight and doing it's job where the tail rotor connects to the tail shaft. If it is slipping you might see exactly what you are seeing. I used a dremmel to make a flat spot on the shaft so it wouldn't slip. Some are already designed like that, but mine was not.

I got to thinking about this more, and remembered my T-Rex 450 did this one time and I had a servo wire that had a nick in it. When I repaired that, it quit doing it. Checked the Chaos, found one servo connector backing out of the receiver. When I pushed it back in. problem solved. DUH!
