Unhappy And it starts

I ran into my first "no longer available" parts for my 500 3D. The ESC died and they don't stock them anymore. I went to eBay and was presented with several sources ranging from $23 to $70! Yhe end is near folks.....

Never owned a 500x but for my 450x and 300cfx I couldn't wait to replace the crappy Eflite esc's with a far superior YEP esc that cost me all of $20, stronger bec, better reliability and a good governor.

Should be tons of esc's out there that will work for the 500x. Unavailable airframe parts are a problem, crappy Blade/Eflite electronics disappearing is a blessing. ...lol

I like the hobbywing programming box I got for my Oxy. It's much nicer than the Castle link stuff. If I need to replace an esc on something I have it's going to be a HW ESC.

Personally prefer YEP to HW. Hobbywing program box cost as much as a 40a YEP esc and programming card combined and I had to update the program box just to get it to work even though it's the newest version available. Have a HW 40a platinum and 50a v3 and both have had some hiccups and bs during setup. Nothing major but enough to be annoying.

Prefer the simplicity and reliability of the YEP plus you cannot beat the price.

60a YEP will handle your 500 just fine, 60a YEP is $30 and the programming card is $7.

I'm thinking the "hiccups and bs" you had during setup were user error... because my Hobbywing 50 was extremely easy to setup.

I've done both the stick programming and the program box method. I really don't think it can get much easier
