Default normal vibrations

Hi guys,

recently finished building my 250pro DFC, still dialing in the beast x, but seems to fly good.

just want to ask about vibrations. while flying i dont see any excessive vibrations anywhere, but when i spool it up in my hand (yes stupid i know, but i actually hold it around a glass door i have in my house, so well protected!) i feel quite a constant fast vibration. doesnt seem to have any effects that i can see on its flying, but is this normal? or should it feel completely smooth?? feels like a very small gentle jackhammer going very very fast.

thanks
alex

There's going to be some vibrations, but it shouldn't be too bad. Mine has a bit of resonant vibration, but there's no wobbling or anything like that. Even with your blades and head balanced, you'll get a bit of vibes, it's not going to be perfectly vibe-free.

Look at the tail fin and the skids in flight, if both of those arent vibrating and look smooth then you should be fine

If the head doesn't vibe and the main Blades aren't vibrating or out of track, you're fine. If your tail doesn't wag and the tail fin isn't vibrating, you're fine! If there were other vibes that the FBL sensor was picking up, you'll know something's wrong. Just check for loose screws and fasteners frequently if you don't crash much. Just fly the crap out of it and get your money's worth and skills up!

It can buzz during spoolup but should be smooth in the air. if its still vibrating while flying then you most likely have tail vibrations. Check that your tail shaft is straight, and your tail blades are balanced.

Do you have gyro in rate or HH, if your holding the heli it will confuse gyro, I've noticed in HH the tail will wag but in rate mode its fine, any normal vibration should be much higher frequency than you describe (ie a buzz not a noticable hammer feel).

my blades look like they've been running through knives, i guess i should check them more, i changed them and the bearings and all is back to normal, good thinking

Multiple waves can compound and cancel eachother resulting in a lower beat frequency (not to be confused with a resonance frequency which would more likely occur in a higher range). It's actually quite common but you'd need a spectrometer to be certain.
