So after blowing up my 3ds, I got an sr on the way for cheap. The sleeve and head from the 3ds are still good, but not the piston. can I put the 3ds sleeve in the sr without swapping the piston to a 3ds?

Here is a really good thread on the differences. I believe the only difference in the piston is four added holes for lubrication. You should be able to use the 3ds sleeve and head for some extra power and smoothness.

You can actually use your 3ds head and buy a srx Tareq liner from RCJapan for $35. You will have close to an SRX.
