Default Will mini Vbar power Futaba 7003SB over serial link?

I have a Futaba 7003SB RX that I will hook to a mini vbar. One connection between them will be the SBUS port 1 on the 7003 to the RXC on the Vbar. There are 3 wires, +V, ground and signal. Does the Vbar source the +V to the 7003 to power it? Or, do I need to bring power to the 7003 by some other method?

The S. Bus cable will carry voltage to the RX.

Yup, I'll second that. My system goes from the battery to a regulator, the regulator backfeeds to my CGY750 which backfeeds to my receiver through the SBUS cable.

It'll work, but IMO it's always a good idea to have redundant power. For the sake of a £2 Y lead, feed power to both FBL and Rx.

Sounds like a good idea to use the secondary power cable too, so I will do that.

Has anybody had to use the manually installed pull up resistor between the +V and ground on the SBUS cable when using the 7003SB with a YGE ESC?

I'm not sure what you mean, sorry. Are you worried about the voltage going into the SBUS Rx? They're all HV ready I believe...

Apparently, the 7003 does not have internal pull up resistors on the SBUS transmission lines and leaves the line in a tristate condition when it is not transmitting. When connecting a non Futaba device to SBUS, YGE 90 LV in my case, there is a chance of poor communications because of this.

The above is just a quick synopsis of my understanding of the issue at this point and I would recommend you read the link posted for more details. I am not sure I stated the issue with 100% accuracy but it will give you a feel for what is involved.

This was addressed on the 7003SB several years ago. There is no need to add any special connections if your R7003SB has the gold dot between the antennas.
