Is that a 500 or 600 Align Gear? I bought a Align 500 gear at my LHS but it doesn't sit any higher, it is wider. I need more clearance for protecting my tail blades.

Get longer bolts, and add some plastic spacers in between the frame and gear support - that's what I do. You can buy spacers at Lowe'; works very well.

What's with the flybar weights being in different spots??

They shouldn't be that far out.. If you are having balance issues, balance your main blades and measure out the flybar and make sure it's centered. Then add your weights and paddles so that they are even.
I used to pull off the main blades, and do the flybar setup while looking at the 'tracking' of the paddles and where the weights were.

Anyway, Good luck!

I'm so glad that there's someone still on here! I inherited a 350 3D and am going to fix it and tune it and fly it. Everyone has told me to get rid of it, but I won't make anything really. Plus I kinda want to learn how to properly tune a flybar and get it to fly.

Here's a shot of my stock heli during my initial training flights. I'm just new to all of this.

Pretty quiet around these parts. Oh well, still fun and new to me!

I have my heli at work with me up on the north slope of Alaska where it's currently about 3° F. The thing was a bugger to fly and I think the tail servo had a hard time keeping up with the gyro commands.

Anyway, my friend got some good photos of it today when the wind had finally died down and the sun was out.

Those are some really nice shots! But you can have that weather! Temps here have been in the mid-sixties, and the trees are starting to get their leaves!

You're a lucky man. I didn't want to leave when I visited Alaska a few years ago. Nice pictures!

Here are some pics from a little photoshoot I did today after work. This is the helipad we use at this particular base I'm working at in Alaska. And this is my first photo set of the heli with my Canon 7D.

And, of course, the blog post with all the pics here: http://rchelicam.wasatchranger.com/2...hotoshoot.html
