The 450's im talking about are with CX-ZYX software version 4,0. .... Dont know what is wrong with your beastX to be sluggish.. If there is a rollrate setting, max it out... also raising above 100 endpoints should work. you did not accidentally turn on Dualrates on your Tx, did you? that would make you look slightly silly here

No I didn't turn on dual rates.

I tried with the compass head and could get 12 degrees cyclic throw limit at 10 degrees collective. With this setup I get a much better roll rate.
