Default PULL START INSTALL?

Hey guys just picked up my spectra g and was wondering how to attach the pull start on a permanent basis. The pull start is removable at the moment but not really secure when i pull on it. Any help would be helpful. Thanks!

I've had problems with mine, albeit mainly self inflicted, but I ended up damaging the holes in the engine base plate so the pull start wouldn't stay on. I'm awaiting a new base plate at the moment and I'm not sure if there's a way of permenantly attaching the pull start.
I think you'd need to remove both the thin plates on the bottom of the engine and then bolt the starter on through the base plate utilising the holes that the countersunk screws go into that hold on the first of those plates?

If its not secure when you pull on it , the carbon plates are worn or the pull start mounting bolts are either too tight or too loose . Mine are a very snug fit , and as I proved accidentally once , don't even fall off if I fly with it attached ....

I've seen a couple mounted with a home made locking device to prevent it rotating off too; was just a piece of plastic jambed against the starter and bolted to the base plate ...

If you take one of the throttle servo plastic standoffs and mount it to the bottom of the frame with one of the 6 engine mounting bolts, it will keep your starter on. But in reality if your starter will not stay on long enough to start it, maybe you need a replacement CF plate or to simply tighten the 4 screws on the starter itself. You might also be pulling the starter from the wrong direction causing it to pop off. You need to pull it in line with the tail boom.
