Default DX7S switch to mix ?

I had hoped I could easily assign a switch to create a simple mix to boost the throttle for the effect of a 2nd idle-up but I'm finding it not as straightforward or flexible as I had hoped.

I have at the moment acheived what I wanted but at the expense of the aux-2 channel which is now effectively un-usuable for anything else.

On some helis this won't be a problem but with some I am using all the channels.

Soooooo, why the heck can we not create a mix that simply allows a switch to add or subtract to a channel (in this case throttle) without having to first assign a channel to the switch and then select that channel in the mix, if you see what I'm saying.

Mix Thr>Thr. No reason to use a ghost channel.

Thanks for your reply.

That would be nice but I sure can't figure out how to do it. In the switch select menu the only option it gives me for ANY switch is aux2 and when I go to Mixes I do not have 'mix-thr' available as an option.

So if this is possible it must be some other setting required that is very well hidden :-(

Ok. I kind of wasnt thinking back to DX7s and 8. Been awhile since I used it. When setting up a Free/Programmable Mix on the 7s and 8 the only switch options you have are FModes and Mix switch. In Heli mode the Mix switch is the top-left rear switch. The same one that would be Gear in Acro mode.

Setup a Mix of Thr<Thr and in the row of Boxes at the bottom of the menu make the box with M black. Add % in the upper Rate selection.
Just remember that this boost in Thr will apply in all FModes except Hold.

Yep, that works! :-) It's ideal really because of the location of the gear/mix switch.

Many thanks!
