Yeah, K. has a history of being a bit diffucult what comes to their telemetry on JivePro and Kosmik. And we can only assume it's getting worse since TelMe's came out.
Tom (JLog) have surely has his share of issue. For example K. had their Kosmik to report rpm's in very funny way a few FW's ago and Tom had to make corrections via our testing on the subject. What comes to market-share in Europe Kosmik is still most often considered as the "high-end" ESC, for those who are making a 700-heli with "serious attitude" there is very often a Kosmik in it. Same goes to many speed-machines. External Gov on Kosmik is funny, it just does not like it as you said. On the other hand the internal gov in Kosmik is very good. Maybe I should try a Brain sometime soon. You could send me one to review on my site

Hi Teros,
Why would one spend big bucks on K esc & not capitalise on it's great bec & gov. I've been a K user for a while but having said that, I would go for other up & coming esc which are getting just as good & cheaper still. Don't know what its like in the US but I've encountered some unpleasant service issues which should never have appeared in the first place. Hence Cheers |

Yes, the K business acumen is questionable to say the least.
It is hard to find so far an ESC that is as bullet proof but I have hopes for the HW yet or may be Mezon v2 coming up.

However, it remains the problem of truncating texts. As seen from the first image the full text transmitted are received and stored by the transmitter but then are "truncated" although there is a lot of space available as shown in the second image. In the release I solved using lowercase characters, but it's a shame to waste all that empty space with "white". |

Also is there a need to use 9 characters for init on the telemetry-line, I do understand the need for "Brain" and "Esc", could there be a shorter form of some kind? One tip: using the "correct" capitalization of text makes the text more readable. What I mean: BRAIN ESC CURR (A) Brain esc curr (A) Brain Esc Curr (A) Brain ESC Curr (A) If you ask 100 people which is more clear and fastest to read majority will say the last or second to last one. Reason is that we have learned for years to read our text in a certain way. Now if the capitalization differs from what we are used to do our brains (he he...) need to "recalculate" the text and that slows down the reading and often subconsciously makes us believe we are seeing information from a lower quality source. And we don't want that Please do not take my word on this, there's university-lever researches on these. GUI-designing with all nuances is a hard job, trust me, I know It's these small things that can make a good product perfect Keep up the good work!

But other than the wasted white space, also with the 4.20.1 I have (as you yet well know) another problem related to our "flybarless unit integration" and LUA. LUA and integration use the same memory space! I had to disable the sample applications (provided with the update) otherwise using our integration the transmitter lock. For security, I then loaded the older version of the firmware version and then again the 4.20.1 but this time the base version without LUA. So, I have therefore not been able to prove your interesting LUA Applications. I'm sure that this problem become fixed in the next DS-16 update but the only things that I don't know, is when. About the capitalization of the first word, thank for the suggestion. I have done in the update released today About "there's university-lever researches on these", now I understand better why the university fees that I pay for my son have become so high than in my day Last edited by BrainDev; 01-18-2017 at 06:06 PM.. |

Once LUA problem was fixed one interesting LUA app to realize is a spektrum analizer able to reproduce vibration of the flight.

I know that the memory-issue in -16 is under works, there is a hint of additional 10 k to be saved but implementation and testing will take it's time.
i just love my 24, i can use practically whatever i want with Lua about the university, yeah, they study some really funny stuff there. Like "Start-up time on light bulbs in different enviroments" or "How does flies find crap"....

They are the most resourceful creature on the planet. There's places where other things can't live, such as mosquitoes, but you'll find flies there. And how do they know the moment the screen door is opened? If only our brains were as capable as theirs. Dan
