Weah Roberts, thanks for doing that on the news, thanks for helping provide ammunition to the people who want to regulate our hobby for "our own good", cheers, nob.

It's like having Homer Simpson give a lesson on gun safety.
Anything to get your face on the news.

What a moron. That might be the dumbest thing I've ever seen with an rc heli.

Trex 700 DFC HV Pro, cheating with a Bavarian Demon Autopilot so all I have to do is turn it on and watch it 3D for me.

Not true, he could have taken it to the next level and let it hit him in the face to demonstrate. That arm didnt even look like it was fully extended either. I laughed though when I saw that on the news. I said they have an accident then a guy holding one in his hand.

Not sure this qualifies as "most dangerous" but...

That video makes me really upset. For many reasons. Yes the pilots were dumb and they shouldn't have flown so close to her, but the new reporters calling it a toy and asking her, almost implying forcefully that they meant to hit her? is this how all news in America is?

Bottom line, they injured the girl then left. This was a sad day for our hobby. Any fault here is purely on the pilot, IMHO. To continue flying in an public area that someone is walking is pure negligence. To leave without manning up to what you had done is pure cowardice.

As much as I often hate the media, I didn't get the vibe you got here. Even the police were questioning whether there was a crime or not. As far as the toy helicopter line, to the general public, that's often how RC helis are differentiated from real helis.

Very sad. As I remember, helifreak took up a collection for this girl.

I think they went over and talked to her till the paramedics showed, but then they took off without identifying themselves. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Rick's recollection is correct from what I recall, too.

My dad had a RX pack die on his 30 sized nitro heli back in the 90s. he had to get down like that and try to hold the heli down and pull the fuel line off as it was tryng to take off. the heli leaned over and cut his arm in like 3 places. luck they were wood blades and think they broke he got the engine killed, i was freaked out cause i was outside watching this. but it was in our backyard and he knew if it took off who knows where it went or what it could flown into. my grandparents lived next door.

I don't think I could ever do that. I guess I would just have to find something to throw at it and destroy it or something.

Default Mines bigger wartch this

Gonna buy a full size Huey & make it RC
Then test it in my miniscule backyard, show off ma monster i.q.

I don't get some of these people. I just don't get them... for one, they are testing the heli. They don't even know for sure if it is programmed properly!
Then to fly it that close... indoor or in backyard

nope nope no ****ing way. that thing tips and his head is right there.

I sent my sab 700 piuma straight at myself doing a rushed test hover in the yard because I stupidly reverse the elevator, I hit TH and dove to the ground and still hit my leg at 350rpm according to the brain2 logs. it messed me up. I didnt walk right for weeks. it doesnt just hit once either. it hit my calf, back of my thigh, ass, ankle, and I got LUCKY. I was shook from that. I don't even want to think what would have happened if it didnt TH spool way down.
