Default Nano QX in Agility vs. Nano CP with AS3X

Just for comparison sake, does the Nano QX require more stick input in agility mode than the Nano CP with AS3X? I switched my QX over to agility just to mess around for a few and whoa! What a difference!

The nano cpx requires almost constant corrections but with a little bit of Expo and a lower Dual rate it's actually easier to keep still than Nano quad. Of course this is all based off my experience of it on a dx7s and I'm a decent 3d heli pilot so your own results my be different. But the Ncpx is a good step in starting helis after the Nano quad.

In my experience, the NCPx is easier to fly than the Nano quad in agility mode. In fact, I always keep the quad in stability mode. If I want a snazzier indoor flier, the little heli comes out

I find the nQX a lot easier to zip around the apartment with than the nCPX. I don't fly the nQX in stability mode at all since coordinated turns feel so much different. The quad is just overall smoother and easier to correct. It also can't go inverted so I don't try stupid stuff (for me...) like flipping it indoors. The nQX also won't need a new feathering shaft every time you hit throttle hold after losing it around a wall or behind a counter. Due to really never needing to repair anything on the quad, use it to cycle all my batteries at least once a week, and dedicate 6 batteries worth of flight time to holding constant rudder input (sometimes I just hold trim until it's spinning at maybe 10 revolutions per minute) and practice orientations by trying to keep it over the coffee table while it's spinning. Flying indoors with the nCPX, my "oh s**t" moment to repair ratio is about 1:1. Since cutting the bumpers off the nQX (they don't really do much in damage prevention...) I've really just set it back on the table and carried on after any incident.

Well, I think a nano is easier to fly than an nqx in agility.

It is probably arguably more costly to fly indoors, but honestly, all I generally break are blades and the tailboom (eventually). Sure the spindle bends but most of the time, you can fly the heli with a slightly bent spindle.

Once in a while when the thing's really @#!Q2ed up I overhaul it but mostly it just flies.

Perhaps you guys are using different TX settings than I, but with similar rates (70%) and more travel adjust on the nqx (125% vs 100% on the ncpx), I have a much harder time keeping the ncpx over the soft rug in the living room than I do keeping the quad hovering over a coffee table. The ncpx almost tends to dart off with little visual queue compared to the nqx where I can generally see it tilt before it moves in that direction.

You can flip it with no problems indoors.

Ehh.. Kind of talking more along the lines of trying to hover inverted.. I've only been flying for 3 months now, ha ha.

Neither one of mine will recover before hitting the floor in the apartment, I can have it rolled over near the ceiling, but it takes a while to slow the fall as it tries to stabilize, usually only looking like it wants to start heading back up around the time it touches the floor.

Me and my son flew our QX's down the field last night in agility mode trying to flip them! What a laugh that was! He's almost got it nailed! I'm still thinking about picking up the CP for flying outdoors. I'm curios to see how the AS3X effects it's stabilty, it seems to help my UMX quite a bit.

Although I've never raced my son's qx with my Bl, I can tell you the Bl really hammers along at full throttle and collective. The qx just doesn't feel as fast.

BL hands down, I believe, but havent actually seen them race.

Me and my buddy did a mcpx v2 (BL, HP05S, 120SR tail) vs his mcpx BL. Mine beat his in a vertical climb out challenge, but they were close.

If you are new to heli’s and the option is a fixed pitch Msr or msrx VS the Nano QX, I would pick a Nano QX!

But if you are past the basics of helis and are trying to improve your skills, not just have fun, than the Nano CPX is the winner.

I have the Nano QX and Nano CPX and I dont really fly the Nano QX anymore, its probably the only quad copter I will buy and its fun especially with stability and agility modes, but the Nano CPX is better for practice flying bigger heli’s.

I read that with Micro Motor Wearhouse upgraded motors, the quad can scream!

The NCPX and NQX in agility mode are about the same difficulty level. They just feel different. I usually fly the NanoQX in stability mode, and use it to practice upright hurricanes and funnels in the living room Even in stability mode, I found this training to transfer well into actual CP heli flying, as the required corrections are pretty similar.
