Good job! Looks like you still have a very tiny bit of tail wag, but overall that was a pretty nice flight.

Just curious, what throttle and pitch curves do you run?

Yeah she's still twitching a bit, hopefully I can get it to field on Friday and iron it out, and air it out a bit, my pitch curves I'm not sure...oh I think they are linear, throttle curve is mild, something like:
0: 0/36/70/70/70
And 85 flat on Idol 1 maybe only 80

That's cool. Mine are pretty mild in normal mode also. Stunt 1&2 are a bit more aggressive. Not sure exactly. I'm at work now, I'd have to look at my TX when I get home.

But I did order some of the parts I need to start rebuilding my SR. Should be in by Friday and I can get started on it this weekend. Got a few Turnigy servos coming from Hobbyking instead of the Emax this time. Still have to get one of those knitting needles for the tail boom.

I had some Turnigy servo's in one of my SR's they seemed to work good, you didn't like the EMax servo's? Are they the 09's I run those in my Walkera 450, and they are great! The Hitechs seem to be doing pretty good in mine. Yeah you can get a package of 2 knitting needles for like 5 and change at Hobby Lobby, if you have one of those stores, if not most crafts stores should stock em.

I am gonna start gathering parts for my 230s/SR project here soon! I already got a Spartan Quark gyro lined up for it that I bought the other day!
Can't wait to start that one!

Sorry, been real busy lately.

Anyway, I did like the Emax servos. I had the ES08MD's. They worked out fine but I was putting in an order at Hobbyking so I just ordered a few Turnigy servos for the SR while I was at it.

I hear ya, have been knee deep....and cash deep into this 450 pro progect here all week. This thing I am afraid is a mess. Seems I am having to replace everything on it! Whoever worked on it before reamed out torqued down every other screw, ruining plastic parts and such! It's a mess.

Yeah I'm using the EMax 09D I think they are on my V450 heli, metal gear digital, nice servo's! I don't think they will fit the SR though.
These Hitech 65's though seem to be nice, but I am wondering if they are too good for it. I've had to tone down the cyclic response quite a bit more than normally on it, to keep it from being so twitchy!

If the Emax 09D's are the same size as the 08's they will fit on the SR. I had the Emax 08's on my SR. To fit them in there you have to take all of the servo mounting brackets and canopy pins off and put it all back together one by one with the servos in there. It's a tight fit but they do fit. That's how I got the Emax 08's to fit on my SR.

I'll have to check that out! You know I was kinda thinking about the setup of the SR/230s project, I acquired a spare Spartan Quark gyro to use with that project, but I am thinking, how am I going to set the gyro up being there won't be any tail pitch adjustments??????? Since the 230s uses the tail motor speed to lock the tail on it.....really any gyro for that matter. Hmm?

You can run an ESC off of the battery just like the main ESC then run ESC to the RX gyro channel and gyro to the tail motor. Adjust the sensitivity with the gain on the radio and gyro delay. And of course change the direction with the rudder channel or switch on gyro if you have to. It should work out OK.

No problem. You have helped me out more than a couple of times. Gotta try to repay the favor the best I can. Hope all goes well when you get to working on it. If there are any problems I'm sure that between the two of us we can get it worked out.

Yes sir!
I went down to local hobby store to see if they had a 230s.....
Thank goodness they didn't, I mighta bought one!
Was talking to another guy that has one, he said it's an awesome little heli!
I finished setting up my 450 pro DFC tonight after finally getting my swash, and boom block. Just gotta tack down wires and arrange em, and test flight next Friday hopefully!

Sounds great. Hope it flies good. Haven't been doing much flying up here. Weather has been pretty bad. For the last 4 or 5 days it has been either raining or real windy. Plus its getting cold already up here. Yesterday the high was only 58°, right now it is only 44°. Been putting in some sim time. It's too early to be getting this cold already.

That's why I don't live up in Ohio anymore....
Although it has been getting nippy into the 60's at night down here it's back into the 80's during the day! :-)
This past weekend it was just beautiful high 70's low 80's low winds, and I actually had free time to go to the club and fly!
Got tail on SR sorted and let her air out some. She flew beautifully!

Took off work tonite and it actually turned out to be a nice day here today. 74° and very light winds so I think I'll take out my 450 Pro and probably the 250. Hell I might even take the mCPX. Wish the SR wasn't in pieces. It is perfect for the SR right now.

Well get them birds some air! Yeah the poor little SR gets pretty tough to hang in above 15mph winds....

You're exactly right. The SR don't like wind. The 250 is smaller that the SR but it does better in a little wi d than the SR. I think mostly cause of the belted tail. Its still not great, cause of it is small, but not bad for its size.

But, I got my servos for the SR, straightened the tail boom enough for temporary use and ordered the aluminum main blade grips, hub and new spindle and main shaft. Should be back in the air by next weekend.

Yeah that tail gets pretty whacky in the wind sometimes plays hell to keep up. When I did the belt conversion to one of them one time it was unbelievable how much more stable that heli became!
Ahh great! Glad your getting the parts for her!
Did you get a chance to fly the other day? Hope that went well!

Yeah, went out yesterday for a few hours. Had a great time. No crashes! (Imagine that?) Just took the 250 and 450 pro. The 250 flys pretty good but don't come close to the 450 pro. The 450 pro is my #1 heli, but haven't flown it in about a month or so. Been concentrating on getting the 250 dialed in.
