Hey, I'm in the Springs too! I live at exactly 7000' so I estimate mine has been up to 7300'!

My son came home and hadn't seen the quad yet and he wanted to see it in action. I was going to mount my GoPro but I wanted him to fly a bit before we mounted the camera. I decided to fly a little first before he tried it.

I launched it to about 15' then said to my son, "Want to see something cool?" He said "Sure!" I intended to switch to Stability mode and zoom straight up. Instead, I accidently touched the Trainer button, cutting the throttle, and it dropped like a rock, busting the gear. My son said "COOL!" while laughing at me!

I moved my Trainer button on my DX8 outboard to use as a rescue button for one of my helis. I may have to rethink that decision...

Mine launches up so fast when I hit the stability switch, it makes me think it can probably lift a lot.
Maybe instead of how high can we fly, we should have pictures showing how much we can lift!

I knew from the get-go I wasn't going to use the trainer button, I fly helis. I enabled the Throttle Hold function- puts that function to a switch that I am used to hitting when needed.

Hola, fellow Springs resident!

I did some calculations over the weekend: based upon the approx 7,000 RPMs the four props are spinning I estimate about 50-60 ounces of thrust

Hola, fellow Springs resident![/QUOTE]

All we have to do is go up to Pikes peak, and most everyone else will never catch us. Anyone close to Denali?
I've been back and forth about throttle hold, and think I'll settle on using the TH switch for RTH, cause I never use my bind button (dx7s), so it will feel natural. Get in trouble, hit TH and not RTE button. Sucks watching everyone having fun and still waiting for mine. Oh well it will be here tomorrow. Have to wait until Monday for my contour mount, but hopefully I'll be skilled at it by then. I got all weekend, and 5 packs charged up with the 6th coming with it. Want to see if I can get some good vids of some raptors flying around here. Pretty cool flying up there with them. Atleast until they turn on you

Hola, fellow Springs resident!
Makes perfect sense, I am definitely going to switch mine before the next flight...thanks!

Hello as well!

Hola, fellow Springs resident!
That just makes sense, I wonder why they didn't suggest that to begin with since it's an automatic reflex for most of us.

Time for me to switch over too.

Well, ok, I've made you wait long enough...

I'll spill the beans.....

I took the shot of downtown a couple days ago, The next day, I liked it so much I flew the 350 and let it hover while I got out my iPhone....

Photoshop is a wonderful thing

Of course if I could afford two GoPros, two DX7s and two 350qx's, I would have done it the easy way!

Trying out the ContourRoam in 20+ wind. Extra weight probably helped a bit. Need to adjust my cam to 1080 though.

You would really only need 1 gopro, 1 radio and 2 350's Set them up how you want them on the ground and fly straight up.

You'd probably also need a go-pro sized weight- otherwise the one without the go-pro would go higher.

I think that would not matter in Smart mode... throttle stick is then controlling altitude, not power. I think that's how Horizon did it on their synchronized 350 video.
