Default 8717 on 8v Failure Poll

Just out of curiosity I wanted to see how many people running on 8v have actually had a failure.

I put put this poll in JR Radios section. Here's the link:

Will James said it was cool to muli-post and link to the poll

Just wanted to bump this thread since it's been a while. There's probably a lot more long time users of 8717's on 8 volts now.

Please participate only if YOU personally are running the 8717's on 8 volts.

Also, if anyone is running 8717HV's and has had a failure please post and tell how it happened.

What is so fantastic with 8volt then, is it worth to put cyclic at risk?

I have been running 8717's on 8 volts (Trex 600N) *using a Fromenco Kiwi pass through" for over a year now, with no issues....

They sure are FAST at that voltage - love them..!!!!

I made the switch to 8V on my 600 about 9 months ago, so far so good, running off the lipo to the 921 and then the spektrum VR for gov and gyro!

Might be interesting to have another poll for failures on less than 8v to compare how many votes with how many failures there are on both configurations. Seems like just having numbers on one setup won't really give much to compare with. It could just be the normal failure rate of the servos at any voltage.
