Default 700 competition questions.

Well I got the bug for a 700 Goblin at IRCHA.

Mine is ordered and should be here on Wednesday!

With the competition will the original aluminum skid braces or the lynx ones work?

Will 710 blades work?

Don't know about the skid clamps, but I'm running Edge 713's and 115's so does Patrick at KDE, no problems so far.

The skid braces are the same as the original, so you can use those or the Lynx. 710's are fine. I picked up a set of Helix 715's for my Agile and tried them out on the Goblin - no issues.

I'm not too worried about crash damage and don't want skids breaking on landings after the Goblin 500 issue.

This is just in case of skid damage for replacement stuff, and since I already have a set sitting around....

I could be wrong, but I think only the LE 700 comp and the 770 comp have the breakaway landing gear. The regular 700 comp comes with the same landing hear as the original 630.

Ok, I'll worry about it when the kit arrives.

One more question. It appears the competition has a different drive ratio than the older 700?

I have a 540kv scorpion 4530 I will use. The stock 22 tooth pulley would give me a headspeed at approximately 2200 rpm at 80% on my YGE gov store.

I notice most of the examples in the manual are for 520 and lower kv.

This thing should rock with that motor and pulley. I hope I don't have a permanent smile on my face after....

You can use 214 divided by the motor pulley size to get your gear ratio, if that helps?

Well the kit arrived today. I had a quick peak and everything is in its place.

Now to strip the 7 HV down and transfer the parts!

The build will have to wait until tis weekend.

I am meeting with a local club about joining. It is only 10 minutes from my house. Wish me luck and that they are heli friendly!

Yes you did push the confirm order button at IRCHA!

It worked out better to order it from the Canadian supplier. There was literally no remaining room left in the vehicle on the drive home.

Which landing gear is supposed to be the breakaway? The aluminum braces came with my 700 comp but while I was at helidirect as they were getting the order together the older guy (didn't get their names) took a plastic set and just put it in the box without a word, which was good as I felt one of the skids crack during the build, I swapped out to the plastic and it definitely feels much beefier.
