Nice vid Tom, what cam are you using as that's the most blue sky I've seen in the UK lols. You want to set the fun jet up for 6s and see how she flies. A friend put 6s In his awhile ago and it must have done well over 150 mph lols.

I walked right to it using my iPhone, which logs the telemetry.

All I can say is buy good gear.

Spend the extra to have some method of logging GPS, either using telemetry.

I use EZOSD + iphone, + EZtelemetry (LCD displays last known GPS).
Or use an OSD that displays GPS on the screen and record the signal on the ground station!

I also have a diversity. simple setup but it helps add piece of mind.

Its not the cheapest but it has save me time. Not lost the plane yet, but I landed in long grass and couldnt find it. The iphone led me straight to it!

My buddy is cutting loads of corners, and just the other day he lost his plane after losing video signal.
Diversity might have stopped that. He didnt record his video. I dont think his OSD displays GPS (coz he bought the cheapest). No telemetry. No he has lost all his gear

+1 on buying descent gear. Recording is pretty much a must or at least have something that will give you last known corordinates. Another good thing to have is a tracking beacon.
Tom Ive just got myself a flying wing which is capable of about 17 k. I was going to maiden it at the weekend but my Rc tx throttle stick needs recalibrating which means sending it of, so no flying for a week or too gutted. How's the funjet going ? My friend to his above the clouds at the weekend and got some great vids.

The fun jet is (was) fun! Just need to do the minor repairs it needs after flying straight into the ground.

I have to admit flying planes fpv is far more relaxing than helis lol. Vibes can be a pain in the arse to sorce and sometimes the only way I've got rid of them is to strip down and rebuild. My heli flies really smoothly but I tried one of those hd key chain cams the other day and because it's a CMOS cam it picked up the remaining hi frequency vibrations I have left and gave me really bad jello effect. The one thing I would say about flying helis fpv, when you have a croud watching and it goes well, it's very rewarding.

Yes something cooler about using helis,
however, for me, I've done it now with the 450 and 500, so I dont feel bad moving onto planes. Fun to try all. And the funjet is very very fast and agile, even as standard!

I still fly helis LOS for kicks though. (basic 3d!), and have a wren turbine on order (my 4th! I keep selling them then regretting. I swear I will keep this one!)

I miss flying my quad though. I had so many problems with the 330SX that I gave up with it. Flew fine for 3 months, then flew like shit.

I am waiting for another low cost reliable quad playform. ARFT. I dont want to mess around with arduinos. I dont have time!

Quads are great for more daring stuff, as they are cheaper to repair and do less damage if they hit someone! They are cool for hovering close to yourself, through trees etc. I did more daring stuff with the quad
