Thunder tiger Ace RC BEC-8: Experience on 12S?
Wondering if anyone has experience connecting the Thunder Tiger 8 amp "ACE RC BEC-8" to a 12S supply.
There's lots of talk about the CC Bec Pro that is rated for 12S but general advice is only to use it on 6S. I've actually bought the WR Hercules mini Bec G2 that is rated for 8S and was going to connect to one 6S pack but the manufacturers advise against this (CC seems to be happy to advise to connect their bec across one 6s of a 12S system). This is for a 600 size scale heli with two 6S packs in series. Nelson

I also asked WR about how to wire their BEC and they said to connect it to 12s in series.
Perhaps they are more confident in their's and Castle is just telling you what works best without problems to save a bit of face. Ya know? I don't like BEC's unless its on a small helicopter. The word BEC means Battery Eliminator Circuit- the purpose: to eliminate the battery on a small helicopter that can't carry extra weight. A 12s 600 can carry around a RX battery... or ten. |
